Auto at the Monkey Bar - original Cuban Mahogany. This used to be a Jewish barber shop, look at the star of David tiles. Order the Barkeeps Whimsy and the hamburger and fries and hearts of romaine salad with anchovies. There are 40 monies all around this room, but don't count them, just people watch all the wonders who walk past, or sidle up at the bar. Leave a huge tip for the excellent ambiance, service, and most of all, BOOZE and FOOD!

The building the Comstock is in has been around since 1907 and has mostly been untouched. Great history and a great bar. Live jazz, great drinks and awesome SF atmosphere. Staff are nice and friendly

All around solid cocktail bar paired with a quaint and cozy ambience. Been a North Beach staple for a while now but I'm glad they've kept a lot of the historic interior from before. Staff are friendly and happy to provide recommendations. Great manhattans here but feel free to venture round the menu. Great date night spot or an intimate catch up with friends.
